Hawkhill Medical Centre

The Partners and Staff would like to welcome you to Hawkhill Medical Centre.  The present Practice was established in 1993 when the GPs from three well established Practices in the West End of Dundee joined together to form a new partnership to consult from a modern purpose built medical centre.

Hawkhill Medical Centre was designed with their patients in mind with a vision to provide a wide range of healthcare services

We are always striving to improve our knowledge and the quality of our services and we proudly achieved Practice Accreditation status and are also an Approved GP Training Practice.  Our aim is to provide all patients who are seen and treated by the Doctors and Staff at Hawkhill with the highest standard of medical care and efficient administrative services from our hardworking Administration Team behind the scenes.

Repeat Prescription Requests, Text Messaging & Online Patient Services

We introduced an Email, Text Messaging and Online Patient Service in 2018.  This service allows the following: 

To receive appointment confirmations; and to cancel the appointment via text message up to an hour before the appointment.

Patients can also receive invitations to clinics by text message or email along with messages and questionnaires from the Practice.

The Practice is currently reviewing the repeat prescription ordering methods with a view to improving the safety and efficiency of the service.

During 2019 we plan to phase out the website and email service and request all our patients sign up to “My Patient Services” online.

If you would like to sign up for “My Patient Services” please ask for a registration form at reception or download this from our website. 

We will keep you informed at each stage of the transition.

Once registered you will receive information that will enable you to create your Online Patient Service username and password.

Please note if you wish to register family members for any of these services, a separate registration form is required for each person.

You can opt out of these services at anytime by contacting the Practice in person or by telephone.

Failure to Attend Appointments

Between 01.01.18 and 31.12.18 — a total of 1283 appointments were wasted due to patients booking appointments and then not attending.


We are an extremely busy Practice and you will agree that this is not acceptable and these appointments could be offered to other patients.


Please ensure that you cancel your appointment.  You are at risk of being removed from the Practice List if you continually fail to attend your appointments.


The Practice operates a text reminder service which will send you appointment reminders and if you are unable to attend you can cancel by text up to one hour before your appointment.  Please speak to our Admin Team if you wish to sign up to this service.

Same Day Prescription Requests

Please allow sufficient time for the Practice Team to process your request.  By law all prescriptions must be reviewed and appropriately prescribed.  We cannot, therefore, guarantee that your request will be processed the same working day.

Please make every effort to request your prescription(s) at least 48-hours before they are required.

Our administration staff, and the Hawkhill website, can provide details about the ways in which prescriptions may be requested.
